It is amazing to know that power and to see it in action, but I very seldom call upon that power. Not enough crisis in our lives I suppose. Life should not be comfortable.
My neice, who is a missionary and teaches children to evangelize other children, once gave a 3 hr. sermon in Bunganda, Kenya. She was talking about transforming,but lacked an illustration applicable to the people. She prayed that God would give her one as she spoke. During a downpour of rain, a blue butterfly the size of her palm flew in the window of the building she was speaking in. It landed on her bible that she was holding and remained there for her 3 HOUR SERMON!!!! WOW! Only the tip of the iceberg I believe.
Access? Use?
There's a difference between having the President on your rolodex and having nuclear launch codes. Not a great analogy, but the power (which I know is there) is available to us, but only to show God's glory. Unfortunately for me, God often works through human weakness.
Powerful humans aren't godly, on the whole, and neither are the godly all that powerful.
But that doesn't stop me from trying.
